Coventry Nightlife

If you're heading to the Coventry area for a break, whether a family holiday, a getaway as a couple or perhaps with friends, you'll no doubt be looking to make the most of your time there, and that includes the evenings. Coventry is absolutely packed with places to enjoy a night out from restaurants and pubs to stylish bars and clubs. In the summer lots of the hotspots have outdoor areas so that you can get the best of the warm weather and hours of sunshine. Whether you want to get to know the locals in popular nightspots or want to have a dance and a generally good time, there's plenty to choose from.

Unlike many cities, the night spots in Coventry are scattered around the various city areas, rather than being focused on one or two streets as you often find.

InspirePubs and Bars

The city centre naturally has a good number of places to go by night, including pubs, bars and nightclubs. The Glasshouse, Inspire and Bar Liquid are popular options. The Skydome is another much frequented spot, with the Orange House a great pub environment offering reasonably priced food and a laid back atmosphere.

JailhouseLive Entertainment

For music lovers, some of the bars in Coventry also provide live gig performances. Hand and Heart on Far Gosford Street is one such place, as is the Jailhouse on Much Park Street as well as the Flanker and Firkin on Warwick Road.

Beer EngineStudents

Coventry is a great place for student nights, with ample special offers on the go, so keep an eye out if you have a student card at the ready. The Lanes on the High Street is a popular student spot, as are the Oak and Gringos, both on Gosford Street. The Golden Cross is a must see place for many, said to have been a student pub since the 16th century! The Elastic Inn and The Beer Engine are other spots students tend to gravitate towards.

Jumpin Jak'sClubs

If you feel a good night out isn't complete without some quality DJs then Coventry's many excellent nightclubs will not disappoint you. With music genres covering various types of dance and much more besides, you'll find the right atmosphere in one of these places. The Insitute on Cox Street is a must for old-school kicks, while Jumpin Jak's in the Skydome Complex is a loud, bustling, entertaining experience if you're game.
