Restaurants in Coventry

Coventry is of course a diverse urban centre, and for this reason it has a wealth of restaurant styles, with many world cuisines represented. Whatever your budget you'll find something to suit, with everything from budget, casual environments to high end eateries. The city centre is naturally the main source for places to enjoy a meal, but the wider area is also peppered with plenty of options.

Coventry is a great place to enjoy a curry, with a wealth of Indian restaurants to choose from. Ally's Balti House is a favourite spot, an excellent value, friendly place with plenty of locals frequenting it on a regular basis. The Sonargaon Tandoori is another great choice, a unique mix of fantastic quality Indian dishes and a lively, vibrant atmosphere. The Akbar on The Butts is another well loved option, with a warm welcome and a warming meal guaranteed.

British food naturally comes in many forms, from traditional pub grub to award winning restaurant cuisines. Whether you fancy some quiet romantic time or want to be in among the locals having a good laugh, there's a pub or restaurant to suit. Popular favourites include the Greyhound Inn at Sutton Stop, the Shilton Arms on Church Road, and the Coombe Abbey, which is a hotel and restaurant set in a wonderful location and with all the character you could ask for.

If you fancy a taste of the Med, Coventry has plenty of Italian and Mediterranean restaurants in various parts of the city. Ristorante Da Vinci is an excellent Italian restaurant, located on Earlsdon Street and characterised by excellent quality produce combined with extremely attentive service. Habibi on Far Gosford Street is a great option if you fancy something a bit different, specialising in Lebanese cuisine within a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere. San Marco also lies on Far Gosford Street, another fantastic Italian option focused on traditional Italian dining and service.

 

Other options for eating out in Coventry include American dining as well as Thai, seafood and Greek to name but a few. The types of environment also vary enormously, with many of the best loved restaurants, cafes and pubs offering outdoor dining, perfect in the spring and summer months. As well as the host of great restaurants, there are lots of casual, relaxed bistro type establishments, so you can choose whichever type of setting you want for an enjoyable evening.
